Love at first sight..?

According to my concept it will not ..why because while thinking about this title the question arises, is "love" at first sight real? When thinking about this I reflect on my childhood as you should yours. I used to dream that I could go out, find an ugly toad, kiss it, and have it turn into a handsome prince who would love me forever; reality or fantasy? It is a proven scientific fact that a toad absolutely cannot turn into a human; if they could then what exactly is the need for the male species? So, can I now deem my childhood dream as a mere fantasy.

Since this is in fact a debate, then opinions are the key to be effective. My opinion on the issue is that there is absolutely no such thing as "love" at first sight. Supported by evidence, I've come to believe the phrase
should be more of "lust" at first sight.
-Lust being defined as an intense desire or craving for self gratification, mostly sexual desire.
-Love being defined as constellation of emotions and experiences related to a sense of strong affection or profound oneness
This brings me to a point, Love and lust coincide with one another strictly in the romantic aspect of life; however, some believe that love cannot sustain without lust but lust is not necessarily associated with Love. However, this statement is biased towards romantic couples. In my experience, Love is connected to the family pet, children, and even things as simple as a movie or sound track, surely a person in their right mind would not have a sexual desire for a movie, family pet, or child.

Symptoms to diagnose your condition would include: lust- having a yearning or desire, having a strong or excessive craving. The desire and whim that everything is yours. No thought put forward into the other person. No compromising. Love- connection of your soul with someone else's. It's settling your differences, dealing with conflicts as one person, not two separate entities. It's sharing your life experience and being the other person's friend. Love is pure and comes without decision. Love is to have a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person.
Love is a very unforgiving word when used loosely and in terms of "love" at first sight. With this in mind, I come to conclude the two simple facts that love and lust are typically both considered extremely strong desires. Love being the desire to give and lust being the desire to take. Love coincides with lust but this cannot be said the other way around.
